The AI Readiness Self-Audit.

The same set of questions we work through with clients in the first half-hour of a paid AI Audit, given to you to do yourself. 15 minutes, no hype, no pitch. At the end you score yourself into one of three honest next steps — and sometimes the right answer is none of them.

  • ·Diagnose where AI would actually pay for itself in your business
  • ·Spot the red flags that mean don’t automate this yet
  • ·See what you already pay for that does AI work today
  • ·Score yourself into the right next step (audit, workshop, courses, or none)

What’s inside

Five sections. Real questions about your business.

The checklist is the same diagnostic we run on the first call of an AI Audit. We give it away free because the kind of business we want to work with is the kind that does this work first.

Section 1

Where you’re wasting time right now. 20 specific time-sucks across inbox, documents, reporting, customer-facing work, and internal coordination.

Section 2

What you already have. The tools you already pay for, the data you can already get to, the infrastructure that’s already in place — most businesses overspend on AI before using what they’ve already bought.

Section 3

Your team and where they get stuck. Skills, blockers, and culture — the human side that determines whether AI sticks.

Section 4

“Don’t automate this yet.” Eight red flags that mean the underlying business needs to be fixed before adding AI on top. Most “AI strategy” articles will tell you to push forward; this section tells you to stop.

Score

A clear next step at the end. Audit, workshop, courses, or none of the above — we don’t try to push everyone toward the same recommendation.

SECTION 1

Where you’re wasting time right now

Check every item that describes a recurring time-suck for you, your operators, or your senior people. Be honest — the goal is to find the heavy hitters, not to look polished.

1A. Inbox and message work
1B. Documents and content
1C. Spreadsheets and reporting
1D. Customer-facing work
1E. Internal coordination

SECTION 2

What you already have

The biggest mistake businesses make with AI is buying new tools before using the ones they already pay for. Check what you already own.

2A. Tools and subscriptions you already pay for
2B. Data you can already get to
2C. Existing infrastructure

SECTION 3

Your team and where they get stuck

AI is only as useful as the people who use it. Be honest about your starting point.

3A. Skills
3B. Blockers

Check these honestly — the items below are the most common reasons AI projects stall in small businesses.

3C. Culture

SECTION 4

Don’t automate this yet

Where most “AI strategy” articles will tell you to push forward, this section tells you to stop. If you check three or more of these, the right move is to fix the underlying business first — not add AI on top of a broken process.

A few quick questions

Frequently asked.

  • How long does it take?

About 15 minutes if you don’t overthink it. Print it or fill it in on your laptop.

  • Will you spam me?

No. We email it once with the PDF, then one follow-up to ask how you scored. After that you only hear from us when we have something useful — workshop dates, occasional notes. Unsubscribe any time, no hard feelings.

  • What if my score says I shouldn’t hire you?

Then go execute. About a third of the people who fill this out should not be hiring us yet. We’d rather you come back in six months when the picture is clearer than spend $999 on an audit you’re not ready for.

  • Can I share this with my team?

Please do. The whole point of a checklist is that it gets passed around. The PDF link in your email works for anyone you forward it to.

Read the checklist first. Decide everything else after.
